Knuckleball Coach-Hsu Sheng-Ming

----2014 Taiwan School Cyberfair project  By Ling Jhou Anser Team A

Hsu Sheng-Ming, the coach of EDA- RHIONS Baseball Team, passed away in August, 2013. People feel sad about that. He left many memorable relics which were donated to Meinong Sports Hall. However, Meinong Sports Hall shut down in September, and then Kaohsiung Hakka Affairs took over the relics temporarily. Noticing that news, some students and teachers in Kaohsiung, who have strong passion on basebalh, tought to make a research website of Coach Hsu to preserve his stories .
We hoped to introduce Coach Hsu Sheng-Ming, a Kaohsiung local leader figure through collecting historical data, interviews, field experiences and other activities to the public. On one hand, we commemorate his achievements. On the other hand, we put his preserved relics on the Internet. We used the collected information to make a website, “Knuckleball Coach-Hsu Sheng-Ming” and attend the competition of “Local leaders figure, 2014 Taiwan School Cyberfair ”.

  1. Recall childhood - Know Coach Hsu’s childhood, his family and experience how he became a baseball players and his glorious moments in baseball.
  2. Visit friends- To leave memories through interviews with his family, chiefs, friends, and disciples.
  3. Upload on the internet- Collect Coach Hsu’s relics and make a website to preserve them.

A letter to uncles in EDA-RHIONS

Dear uncles:
We are a team from made up by students and teachers who have strong passion on baseball. In this year, we attend a competition, 2014 Taiwan School Cyberfair. In the process of deciding the issue, we felt sorrow and disappointment when we saw news about Coach Hsu’s relics had been stored in a storeroom. As a result, we thought to make a research website of Coach Hsu to preserve his stories. We can put meaningful relics and pass on the stories on the website. This is our wish, so we hope to have your assistance on this matter.
In the project, we hope to experience baseball player’s life. The following are things we need your assistance.

Thanks for your assistance!

Sincerely,
