Our share:
When we finished our project “Transformation of Mudstone”, we planned to present to the Grade 1 to Grade 4 with the phonetic version. After this experience, we found we had a lot of improvement to make progress on presentation and photography. We still believed we could do better not only on finishing the web pages but also guiding more people to know the mudstone area.

Our view
Having visiting the Neopu area for several times, we saw many visitors coming here by tour bus and some vendors, which was livelier than it uesd to be. As the proverb says “There are two sides to one coin.”, this kind of badland was not unfavorable for the agricultural development, but it was a beautiful site for sightseeing. As a result, the Council of Agriculture made a lot of effort to implement the biological engineering by builing two earth dams and embankments and introducing manifold vegetations from elsewhere to plant on blue limestone. With everyone’s endeavor, the demonstration Neopu area of biological engineering has got instant results. The Neopu area is famous for its landscape of mudstone which is bald as the Moon World, but it actully not favorable to growing vegetation. That means the slope is not stable to make any conservation. Once the heavy rain falls, the landslide and collapse happens.
We thought that experts spent time and efforts reconnoitering, experimenting, and finding the appropriate way of biological engineering in order to turn the desolate mudstone area into a green land. On this side, you can see the vegetation which is to fix the soil; On the other side, you can see scrap tires. Also , there are lots of plants growing to attract birds and butterflies to inhabit here. To maintain the conservation on this Neopu Mudstone Area, the local residents spent ten more years developing the area. However, it has been hard and toilful to live here and keep the land growing and stable since the heavy rain happened. It’s touching that the local residents have raised their own environmental awareness to protect the environment and do ecological restoration for pursing the the core value of nature. With their perseverant determination and efforts, the land became full of vitality. It’s our pleasure to introduce this unique place to everybody. We hope everyone come here not only to watch the beautiful landscape but also to care about this blessed land because every plant here has been taken attentive care.
Longci factory broke down, hoping for sightseeing

The Longci factory which had been ran by Vocational Assistance Commission for Retired Servicemen for ten years stopped manufacturing guns and closed . This factory area is wide and broad, featured by its landscape as the Moon World, which has superior natural conditions and has the qualification to be developed into a natural resort. Many organizations have come to inspect and have tried to earn this oppitunity to develop in recreational way.We thought that the mudstone area is easy to slide down, so it needed to be take steps to make the conservation before the development of the natural resort. After all, the environment we can see today takes a lot of endeavor.
Conclusions:
We found the grade 1 to grade 4 could understand our presentation when we presented the phonetic version of our project. Also, we held a trivia game, so they felt satisfied with our performance. The most important of all, I felt it was wonderful to introduce such a great place to everyone because I thought I did a meaningful thing for my country. After the project, we felt we had to take more responsibility for this land since we saw this place being transformed from a desolate area into a blessed land by the efforts of our government and the local community. It’s admirable for them to overcome the difficult problems, make the conservation, and develop the local culture. The satisfying result must be carefully cherished.
Our inspiration:
The Neopu area in Longxing community was miraculously turned from a desert into an oasis to create a vital land by people’s wisdom and hardworking. In daily life, only could everyone cherish and renew the natural resources on the earth, we could save the beautiful earth for our offsprings.
