Introduction

Takao Renaissance Association was founded in 2012, dedicated to communicate and coordinate with the authorities. They hope to create a win win situation on issues such as cultural and historic preservation, urban development, and civil society for both the government and the public. It is most concerned about “the Reconstruction of Hamasen Old Street” now.

He is a great man who makes a lot of efforts on historic preservation without asking any repayment. In order to preserve the history well, he organized Takao Renaissance Association and implemented the preservation activities on the internet.	She is one the local residents in Hamasen. Her family has been a salt merchant since her grandfather’s generation. Her family purchased Sasaki Store after World War II. She likes to share the story of two eucalyptus trees in front of her house gate.

 (2) The protector, Takao Renaissance Association’s history.
In 2012, because of the development project of Hamasen ’s old street, the city government planned to demolish the old street to be a parking lot. Some people gathered the power of the crowd to prevent the heritage vanishing because of the development of economy. Thus, they formed a non-profit organization, Takao Renaissance Association. They hope to preserve historical buildings as many as possible, as the buildings are the proof of the local history.

 (3) Protectors’ related activities.
In addition to preserve the features of the constructions, Takao Renaissance Association wants to promote the traditional craft which is vanishing. Therefore, they hold classes of woodworking. If you are interested in it, welcome to join them.

There are stray cats on Sin Bin Street.  The association takes care of them. They are like families.  Welcome to have fun with the cats, Fun-Shu and Hamasen.
