Origin of the luffa water

It is also named as Tianluo water. Compendium of Materia Medica referred that Tianluo water is able to activate blood circulation, activate the grain and cure the blood exhaustion, thus having the efficiency of clearing the meridian, activating blood circulation, moistening, anti-inflammation, sterilization, calming and relieving summer heat. This is the basic pharmacology for the beautifying action of luffa water. Luffa water has been a good and natural beauty material since ancient times, which is one of the top two natural whitening recipes (the other one is morning dew). It was called as old grammas’ toning lotion in early times.

To ensure the quality and quantity of the luffa for luffa water producing, and to set the farmers at ease, Mr. Chung-guang Shih will pay earnest money and sign a contract for recycle all. Extraction of luffa water

Luffa water should avoid exposure under light, which will deteriorate due to the green moss after basking in sun. Thus the luffa water is extracted at nightfall from the stem and recycled before the sunrise in the early morning. Extraction of luffa water is not easy. Luffa vine should be cut off at about 1m from the vine head. The incision must be sterilized by alcohol, placed into the clean PET bottle with mouth down and sealed up by adhesive tape to prevent the sundries, insects and dew from entering. At most 800cc luffa water can be extracted from a luffa stem.

Back-end process of luffa water

1. Standing and fermentation The extracted luffa juice is put indoors for stewing, which will bubble and ferment at the beginning. Standing and fermentation times defer from person to person. Guang Yuan Liang Co., Ltd pointed out that the luffa juice must pass through a sedimentation period of 21 to 40 days. Jhongpu Township farmers’ association pointed out that the luffa juice must be placed in the shade for 6 months to 1 year for fermentation, activation and extraction. There are also luffa water DIY persons who sell the luffa water just after gathered and filtered.

2. Filtration and extraction Generally speaking, the gathered luffa water is placed in barrel for about 3 days. It is a normal state that impurities float or foaming conditions occur. The luffa water will become clear after placed in the shade for another 10 days, which is then filtered and extracted to obtain the transparent liquid.
