Beginning

There's a group of people who love books, love reading and care about the development of Taiwanese culture. Together they started a group. Through a variety of creative life, and the arts they promote courses and activities to stimulate creative ideas, and foster diverse arts in the community.

Purpose

  • To combine art, culture and education to promote lifelong learning and build creative and culture lives.
  • To build, care for and promote Taiwan's overall arts environment.
  • To advocate the integration and sharing of all kinds of arts and cultural resources, and improve the overall arts environment.
  • To promote cultural and creative industries.
  • To enhance universal care for all kinds of social issues.
  • To promote community awareness and training of community-building talents.
  • To assist in the promotion of arts education in remote areas.
  • To apply for the international promotion of the arts and cultural experience sharing and personnel exchanges.
  • To develop areas between Taiwan and the international arts education.

Association Introduction

Sappho and a group of like-minded friends developed a place of creativity which formally began work in September 2009.
The association hopes that it can become a centre for information about the arts and culture, place where people can participate and care about art.

The Association’s Mission 1 – Improving the Reading Environment

Through the reading club, anyone can easily enter the world of books and become an avid reader.

The Association’s Mission 2 – Encourage Creativity in the Community

Encouraging creativity means unearthing more and different writing.

Joining the Association

Joining is simple! Just go the Small Small Bookshop and tell them you want to join! Fill in the application form and pay the fee.

Fees

  • 1 – Joining Fees – Individuals NT $1000, groups NT $5000, students are half price.
  • 2 – Annual Fees – Individuals NT $500, groups NT $2000, students are half price.

Reminders

貓老大1. The association’s fees are separate to bookstore. Every penny goes towards promoting reading and the arts.

2. All courses are implemented by the Association unless otherwise specified.
