Survey analysis》《Discoveries and Thoughts

We made use of recess times to conduct surveys at each class. After knowing our intentions, all the teachers were kind enough to help us. Some classes didn’t even wait for us to come and collect the results and brought them to us themselves—touching!

 

1.What is the monthly frequency at which you engage in outdoor activities (jogging, camping, cycling, hiking, climbing, mountaineering, swimming)?

According to the results we have retrieved based on the 132 survey samples collected, 44 people engage in outdoor activities once per month, 33 three times per month, 32 twice per month, 23 people more than three times. The result of the students matches that of the parents.


2.What type of outdoor activities do you engage in?

Based on the retrieved 132 samples, the favorite outdoor activities of most (81/132) are mountainous activities, followed by leisure outings (51/132) and water activities (46/132). The result matches that of parents.


3.What types of winter clothing do you and your family own? (multiple selections permitted)

Based on the 132 collected survey samples, most families have down coats (112/132) and Windstopper clothing (31/132), with fewest families owning Gore-Tex clothing (19/132). The result is completely identical to that of the parents.


4.What water sports equipment do you and your family own? (multiple selections permitted)

Based on the 132 samples retrieved, most people own swimming caps (132/132) and goggles (132/132), followed by surfing boards (60/132), swimming boards (57/132), life vests (38/132), with fewest people owning river trekking shoes (16/132). This is understandable, as we have swimming classes in our school, and thus all of us are required to have swimming caps and goggles. Result here on the whole matches that of parents.


5.What water sports equipment do you and your family own? (multiple selections permitted)

從132份問卷中結果顯示,最多人家裡擁有的登山用品是帳篷(98/132)、登山背包(90/132),接續是睡袋(78/132)、登山鞋(65/132)、睡墊(62/132)、登山杖(53/132),最後是綁腿布(13/132)。


6.Please select the brand names of the outdoor equipment you and your family own. (Multiple selections permitted)

Result based on the 132 retrieved samples shows that most Atunas is own by the most people (52/132), followed by Traveler (32/132), Free Time Gear and Wildland (each 14/132), Jack Wolfskin (13/132), with fewest people owning Hilltop (10/132). The result of the top two brands is the same with that of the parents.


7.If you were to by a down coat, what would concern you the most?

Result based on the 132 collected samples shows that when buying a down coat, the factor of greatest concern for most is quality (83/132), followed by functionality (61/132), price (29/132) and style (22/132). Result coincides completely with that of the parents.


8.Atunas is a brand associated with recreational activities. Do you know what country Atunas belongs to?

Based on the result from the 132 collected samples, only 34 people know that Atunas is a Taiwanese brand. Most believed it to be American (83/132), a few (15/132) thought it was from China. The result here diverges significantly from that of the parents. It would appear that we kids don’t care too much about brands, and that we tend believe that big brands are mostly from America.


   9.Have you heard of the “Seven Summits Dream Project?”

As the result from the 132 collected samples shows, only 54 out of 132 people have heard of the project, with the majority being ignorant of it. Result here matches that of the parents.


10.Have you heard of the event “Together We Scale the Hundred Mountains?”

The result based on the collected 132 samples shows that only 40 people have heard of the event, and 92 have not. Result here matches that of the parents.

 

Our discoveries and thoughts:
1.Atuans is the leading brand most families go with when it comes to outdoor recreational products.

2.Among the recent events organized by Atunas, “ Together We Scale the Hundred Mountains” is the most well-known, and international projects that took place outside of the country most do not know much about. While Atunas contributes to Taiwan, but it does so always with discretion, supporting the dreams of many with a caring tranquility
