Atunas’s dedication to its cause via non-profit events

Because we know that Atunas is dedicated to the betterment of social welfare, we were interested in finding out what events the company has endorsed or held. We found that Atuans has taken part in quite a few non-profit events, and to afford better clarity, we have listed the data we collected chronologically, to showcase the dedication of Atunas.
  • Awarded the 金展獎 for above quota employment of physically and/or mentally challenged persons. 金展獎 is a special award given by the government to units and organizations of excellence in praise of their above quota employment of physically and/or mentally challenged persons.

  • 1999:On September 21st of 1999, the day of the 921 Earthquake, Atunas immediately donated three truckloads of relief worth a total of several million NT dollars. They also prioritized distribution of their goods to the most severely afflicted areas, lowering price of goods to the bare minimum, and offering discounts retail prices for retailers of afflicted areas, without the least concern for profit.
  • 2000:In 2000 Atunas sponsored a hiking event by providing equipment for 13 students and teachers of National Taichung Special Education School for The Visually Impaired with which they were able to reach the top of Mount Jade.
  • 2003:In 2003, during the SARS outbreak when all masks were in short supply, some made a profit from selling masks, but Atunas chose to stall all production lines and produced high-quality antibacterial masks to distribute to both consumers and medical teams free of charge.
  • 2005:In August of 2005, Atunas held its 30th anniversary press conference and announced its project to train for gold medal for orienteering in the 2009 Kaohsiung World Games.
  • 2005:In December of 2005, Atunas opened its Ming-shen store direct distribution storefront, and announced its plan to adopt Fu Jin First Park as part of its project to contribute to the underprivileged.
  • 2006:In March of 2006, Atunas held a press conference, announcing its plans for training individuals for scaling the seven highest peaks of each of the seven continents.

2009 “My Acre of Farmland”Event

  • 2009:In the wintery January of 2009, in view of the lack of care for the underprivileged, Atunas held the “A Torch of Warmth, a Heart of Gold” event in Pitou Township of Changhua County, to contribute love to its originated place, Pitou Township, hoping that with a bit of effort the children from underprivileged families may also have a warm and loving New Year.
  • 2009:In February of 2009 at the Winter Special Olympics Atunas sponsored the Chinese Taipei Olympics Committee by providing 80 waterproof coats as team uniform, so that the athletes of Taiwan could fully prepare in the warmth and passion of Taiwan during the games in Idaho, USA.
  • 2009:In July of 2009 Atunas sponsored the “My Acre of Farmland” event. By pure coincidence, Atunas president Quin Cheng became acquainted with this event, which is jointly initiated by Payeasy and some rice farmers of Taiwan. In support of Taiwan rice, the event aims, through adoption of rice fields, to generate greater profit for professional rice farmers, to allow those who has adopted rice fields to experience in person how to transplant and sew, and to cultivate a sense of affinity with the land.
  • 2009年:During the 88 Taiwan Flood in 2009 which devastated the southeastern part of Taiwan and left many children homeless, Atunas not only donated relief such as clothing, sleeping bags, tents, and blankets to affected areas, but also responded actively to the 88 Taiwan Flood Relief Project started by Taiwan Fund for Children and Families by donating part of its revenue, in the hope that afflicted families may be able to resume their to normal lives.
  • 2010:In April of 2010 Atunas sponsored a long-distance swimming event held at Kenting Nanwan.
  • 2010:In June of 2010 members of Atunas along with students from the resources classroom of Chung Chou University of Science and Technology traveled by bicycle a quarter of the island of Taiwan to its southern tip. A group of physically challenged students from Chung Chou University of Science and Technology wished to embark on the challenge of cycling all the way to Kenting. The period of the expedition between 6/30 and 7/4 was in the middle of summer vacation, and though the temperature was typically high, their desire to fulfill their dream soared even higher. Ms. Lin, instructor of the resources classroom, contacted Atunas and explained that this project was the first of any resources classroom, and that the school would do their best to ensure the success of this project. When Atunas received its certificate of thanks and medal, it felt deeply moved by these children’s courage and perseverance.
  • 2010:In 2010 Atunas assisted persons from the Kanner Support Group to scale nine summits of Taiwan.
  • 2010:In June of 2010 Atunas announced its “Dream i CAN” project, encouraged all imaginative visionaries to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams, and speak up for their ambitions. A total of 300 thousand NT dollars of prize money as fund for the actualization of dreams to help more embark on their pursuits.
  • 2011:In October of 2011 Atunas challenged and successfully set a new record for the most people to simultaneously mount the 100 summits of Taiwan. 6136 were took part in the project, breaking the previous record set by England as commemoration for the 100th year anniversary of Taiwan.
