When interviewed, Pan-Pan spoke earnestly, "The year I retire is the year that you take up the flame. I hope to pass my passion for the environment on to you and let you carry on the work to help save Taiwan!" This is not only the expectation of Pan-Pan, but also that of all of the Shui Dang Dang Volunteers (SDD). Under the hard work of everyone, the Yung Ho Eco-park has had a wonderful start, however, looking forward to the future, more people will be needed to continue the dream!

The Establishment of an Ecological Corridor

Uncle Pan hopes that an eco-corridor can be established that will run from the Huajiang Bridge, past the Zhongzheng and Fuhe Bridges, down to the Xiulang Bridge and finally into Bitan, linking up with the Xindian and Danshui Rivers. This is an extraordinary idea and would be very helpful to the environment.

The Rescue and Restoration of Taiwan's Indigenous Plant Life

Most of the habitats of Taiwan's indigenous plants have been damaged by people and they have become endangered species. And so the volunteers have worked hard to restore the plants and it is hoped that in the future Taiwan's indigenous plants will thrive; otherwise we will only be able to see them in books and pictures.

Sustainable Development

The volunteers hope the eco-park can be a sustainable development whether it's through government funding, public contributions or just the volunteers' own hard work. And they especially hope to see more children joining in so that maintaining the eco-park can be passed down from generation to generation.

Carrying Forward the Concept of Environmental Conservation

It is hoped that children can understand the importance of environmental conservation, starting from a young age and carrying on into adulthood. Not only that but it is hoped that this kind of thinking will influence the rest of the world. If environmental conservation relies only on Taiwan, it will not be successful. The Shui Dang Dang Volunteers, who dreamed of this eco-park, think that we little frogs have made a good start and they hope we will continue working hard into the future.
