Action I. From School…

In the research procedure, the most impressive was wherever we went to visit people who would say admiringly, “We appreciated your attention to the topic of environmental protection when you are so young.”

Exactly, the work of recycling resources at school was a general mobilization. There were four different color of recycling baskets 學校回收in the classroom: for paper, for bottles, for plastics, and for Tetra Pak. The typical recycling day was on Wednesday. The recycling truck would drive to school. Our schoolmates would take the recycling baskets to waiting for recycling resources. Someone took waste batteries to exchange the prizes. There were volunteers of parents or schoolmates who help to do the work.
The school workers would help to throw waste paper to the truck. Parent volunteers would put bottles, plastics and Tetra Pak into the recycling bags. The school traffic service team helped to keep the order. After the work, the schoolmates would wash and clean the baskets. The recycling trucks fully loaded the recycling things and drove back to the recycling center. The school activity of recycling resources in a week would be ended within 30 minutes.

Although the baskets were heavy to take from the classroom to the recycling place, all of us would like to do the job because we thought we had only one earth. To reduce the quantity of garbage and save the Earth was the responsibility of ours.

Action II. To Survey Trash Bill

Mayor Hao mentioned in the letter to Taipei citizens that the policy of “City-approved Trash Bags” had reduced trash bill in the families. For example, the trash bill in a family with three members was 43 NTD per month in 2006. We made a table to list the trash bill and wanted to know whether the trash bill had reduced after three years of using “city-approved trash bags”. The Results are as follows:

Action III. The Route Chart of the Garbage Trucks

“The children who helped to throw the garbage would be the good boy (girl).” In order to understand the route and time of the garbage trucks around the residential district, we entered the website of TDEP. We found there were several places to collect garbage in one community. We used e-pen to draft the route chart and reminded our schoolmates to help throw the garbage when back home.
