Architectural features of Jingfu Temple-Layout

¡@Overlooking the layout

  • Jingfu temple is composed of two state chambers and two guardian lobbies. The two state chambers include San-Chuan Chamber and State Chamber and two guardian lobbies include left and right.
  • There is a splendid court yard in front of temple with a monumental archway (Mountain Gate) with four sub-archways at left and right sides to demonstrate great gorgeous splendor.

  • Monumental archway: 4 post and 3 open lobbies set boundary inside and outside the temple to create so-called¡uwine and meat will not pass mountain gate¡v.
  • Temple courtyard: The place for building a pavilion for people to avoid sunshine and playing chess and drinking tea and making social contacts.
  • Fountain in Courtyard : A fountain is built in front of the temple for enhancing glory and also fire extinguishment.
  • Bell tower: Bell tower will sound for offering sacrifices to the gods, welcoming important guests.
  • State Chamber: The venue for believers making worship¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@
  • Front Chamber: For believers burning paper money for the gods. The roof structure in both roofs of state and front chambers is composed of 4 pillars and 4 peaks.
  • Middle Courtyard: The venue for believers to offer sacrifices to the gods

¡]1¡^Jingfu Temple is composed of two lateral guardian lobbies and two state chambers, San-Chuan and State Chambers with roof structure of ¡uFour downcasts pillars with hoisting double-eaved roof¡v. The two guardian lobbies are both left and right lateral lobbies.

¡]2¡^There is a big courtyard in front of the temple with four small su-archways representing east, west, south and north: East Gate: Gate for welcoming sunshine¡BWest Gate¡ÐGate for lengthening comfort¡BSouth Gate¡ÐGate for improvement¡BNorth Gate¡ÐGate for Stars, all demonstrating gorgeous splendor.



¡@¡@¡uMountain Gate¡vin Jing-fu Temple was built in 1960s and ever renovated in 1985 and 2006, composed of 4 pillars and 3 monument archways. There is a big courtyard between the monument archway and front chamber.
