   Digital Afforestation

        Through this campus, plan of “Digital Afforestation” enables school children know about, cultivate and observe the relationship between native plants and environmental ecology in Taiwan, making green and ecological concepts widely popularized and developing their concerns about problems of environment and global warming at young ages. It is also expected to build up green corridors of campus in Taiwan and many enterprises are invited to sponsor for native plants cultivating in the campus. After Chunghua Telecom has invited enterprises to support and involve in this plan, there are already more than 20 enterprises to join and sponsor, profiting schools all over Taiwan. These enterprises give each school green presents of love, looking forward to seeing these saplings grow up under teachers and students’ cares and concerns as well as passing down this love in campus. In this plan, Chunghua Telecom creates blogs of activity notes for each campus to let teachers and students share everybody what they gain while taking care about and observing these plants.

        In the activity of Digital Afforestation, enterprises sponsor the plan “Green Thumb” of Jane Goodall Foundation and this plan has been started at 44 junior high schools and elementary schools in the north of Taiwan. Afterwards it invites the Society of Wilderness and Taiwan Ecological Engineering Development Foundation to start the specialized project “Plant a native sapling and grow a tree of spirit” at 56 schools in the midst, south and east of Taiwan, looking forward to sowing an educational seed, planting a native sapling and growing a big tree of spirit.
