Therefore, the Wenshan Community College and the elementary schools in Mucha have all designed the indigenous courses to facilitate better awareness of this land. The Mucha Literature and History Studio has set up a billboard to advertise the Liu Xie Chang Noodles Factory, a significant resource of this region. The Wenshan District Practice Elementary School has been carrying out the local community survey activities in the recent years, sparing no efforts in promoting the awareness of the homeland. Since Ms Chang Bao-Wen has always been interested in the indigenous education, after contacting the people in different fields of the society, she vigorously recommends the relevant information to the students and teachers. She takes each class of students in her charge to visit the string noodles workshops and prepare the informative handouts to make the trip more impressive for the kids, so that they will know better about this land.

Q: Why do you always have the students visit the string noodles workshops?

A: As I mentioned just now, a native “shall know about his/her hometown.” since the prosperity of Mucha string noodles of the time was no myth, and we can still watch this traditional craft today through inheritance, the kids should lose no chance to know more about this land and to make clear what our hometown used to be. Moreover, at present Liu Xie Chang has no problem with inheritance, but tomorrow is fraught with uncertainty, as making string noodles is a laborious job. Thus no one knows how long the business of handmade string noodles can sustain and you prospective pillars should undisputably acquire more knowledge about it. That is why I have high expectations for you, as your study is very important.
