Transport limitations meant that we the volunteers and homecare providers in LangdaoVillage were chosen for interviews, and Mrs. Chiang is at present a fulltime homecare provider in LangdaoVillage, but due to her poor eye-sight she must use her daytime to visit and take care of the individual cases in LangdaoVillage.Due to there being many individual cases most of her work mainly involve basic cleaning, dressing change, massage and housework for the elderly or sick people, and when the individual cases were more senior then she often chatted with them in their native language, usually for 2 to 3 hours during each sitting, while working for them; she would then share the stories heard from the elderly people about the past with her family and friends! |

¡@¡@Although she had already started working for the Sustainable Promotion of Employment Plan at the Town Hall by sorting the books inside the Town Hall Library, but perhaps due to the previously being encouraged by the volunteers, after getting off work she still used her spare-time to visit the elderly individuals in the village.She said, ¡§I like helping the elderly people to clean their homes the most.Looking at a clean home after cleaning it, it is something that makes me feel happy.Furthermore, chatting with the elderly people is also pleasant and sometimes you¡¦ll discover that the jokes these elderly people tell are very good.

¡@¡@ ¡@¡@Mrs. Bao-chi Chiang is LangdaoElementary School¡¦s Native Language Teacher, who is also very active in community and village affairs and is also a volunteer at the Lanyu Homecare Association.By chance, due to her inner belief of helping others, Mrs. Chiang joined the volunteer work to care for the elderly people, but her husband¡¦s disapproval caused her to stop this work, however Mrs. Chiang still utilized her spare-time from working on the mountain to ¡§discretely¡¨ appear in group volunteer event, and on a few occasions was almost seen by her husband.She made us laugh during this part of the interview with her lively body language.We not only witnessed the chattering ability of these mothers but also their will to perform volunteer work against the odds.

¡@¡@Although Mrs. Chi-yun Hsieh has a small-stature but the word has it that her ability to chat with the elderly people is excellent, and they like to chat with her the most, since after she starts talking it is difficult to close her mouth!Sometimes she also helps the elderly people to clean their home, and although she is sometimes loud, but to the elderly people who have been alone for while, occasionally having loud noises seems good! |
