1. Some students have already joined the former “exhibition of internet courses in Taiwan 2004.” These students have done the home town webpage in the past, and tentatively shape the brief comprehension about the culture of community’s industry.

2. Our school has already held the activity of “little commentators,” which deals with the issues and activities to promote the idea relevant to the water source.

3. The Domain of the Class

1Fourth grade: the second section, aquatic families (Kang-xuan version of nature and technological field of life).

2Fifth grade: the second section, interface of the generation of animals and plants (Kang-xuan version of nature and technological field of life).

Anticipation of the Teaching

1. To let our students realize the strong relationship between water source and forests

2. To let our students comprehend not only the origin of the community tourist industry, but also that of the water resource.

3. To let them learn and experience from these activities, which can lead them to exam themselves. We wish them become the defender of the environmental protection in pushing the issues of community continuation in the future.

Teaching Methods and Steps

First of all, prepare for the activities (20 minutes)

1. Let students watch the movie “the village of wind.” To make them form a basic idea about the issues of “forests,” and “water.”

2. Collect the relevant water resource materials about the forest and water resource (The books and computer materials).  Assign the perspective of the theme to discuss, and talk about the relevant issues about ecological protection.

3. Carry on the bulletin teaching of “forests and water,” and stating the content of study. (as the attached file 1)

Second, develop and organize the activities (80 minutes)

1. Face-to-face visit the “pavement of wild butterfly ginger”

2. Hire a tour guider from Rui-tai tourist center for our students. The explanations are as following:

1Forests have the function to store the water resources.

2The allocation of the butterfly ginger, and other animals or plants.

3The reason why we choose “stream of butterfly ginger” as the scenic spot, and landscape.

4The preservation and rethinking of the ecology and environment

Third: Synthesizing Activities: (20 minutes)

1. Sharing everyone’s understanding and learning from it

2. Discuss the interrelationship between forests and water resources

3. Talk about how to usefully utilize water source to extend the community tourism industry.
