Forests
and the Circulation of Water
Author: Huang, Zhao Ru
Interrelationship between water circulation and
forests is very deeply. Before introducing their
interrelationship, first of all, we have to know the
basic concept of the circulation of water. After the
rainwater drips down into the soil slowly, some of
the rainwater will be absorbed by trees. Others
would ooze into the soil, becoming the groundwater.
The others will evaporate. And the vapor can congeal
itself into the form of the cloud, which contains
many small water drops. Finally, when the cloud is
too heavy, those small drops will drop down, and
finish the last part of the water circulation.
Because trees have functions of storing the water,
trees play a very essential role in water
circulation. In other words, there wouldn’t be a
perfect circulation of water without forests’
storing.
If we want to keep an ideal water circulation, we
should take good care of it as cautious as possible.
As long as we try not to damage the forest, the
water circulation could maintain its intact state.
Somehow, it’s pathetically to say that there is
still someone who destroys it on purpose. Forests
are everyone’s shared property. And there is no one
legally enforced the power to spoil it mercilessly.
If every one of us wants to destroy it, there would
be no forests left. And the worse, there would be no
fresh air and complete water circulation left as
well. The relationship between forest and the
circulation of water would never be changed, unless
someone destroys it deliberately. Otherwise, it
would never change. Thus, we should keep the natural
circulation of water watchfully. So long as one
doesn’t destroy it, it then can keep its natural
form and state completely. Moreover, the forest is
as significant as the circulation of water. Anyway,
what people should do is to concern about the
protection for both of them. Even though the water
circulation is very important, few people will truly
pay attention on it, and cherish it. For example,
they shouldn’t cut down trees in the forest
unlimitedly, waste water, or throw the rubbish in
the forest casually. These are very essential
things, but no one really pay attention on them.
It’s our duty to protect and appreciate our mother
earth as watchful as possible. If not, we won’t have
enough pure water to drink. Although my single power
is incapable to solve all pollution, I try my best
to accomplish this goal. I firmly believe that if
everyone follows my step and takes me as his
example, we can handle the problem we face very
well. At least, I’ll do my best to be a good model
for everyone.
