John's Foundation
On John’s pottery exhibition, John had told President Chen that he wants to establish a “John’s Foundation”. At that time, John already had a plan for this foundation:
- He will institute a scholarship to help aborigines, low-income families, handicapped people and single-parent families’ children;
- The employees of the foundation will take care of feeble people.
- The foundation will sent money to old people that are living alone regularly.
- Institute “Pottery Award” to encourage people who make pottery.

Lots of wishes are growing in John’s heart, he really wishes the foundation can help lots of people, but not only he, but this is impossible for John to do this by himself. At last, the foundation was established in October 24th, 2001 by President Chen’s concern and another company’s chairman’s help. President Chen held the “Establish Meeting” by himself. President Chen said: “After understanding John’s background, we have no permission to say we feel misery. Everyone should have the spirit of Taiwanese to open our own road in the most horrible situation.” The President hopes that the foundation can spread John’s story of life to everyone, and let John’s wish come true.
Though John’s plan of the foundation didn’t really succeed at last, but John is still thankful to President Chen’s care for him.
