Introduction to Nantun (Southern part of Taichung City, Taiwan)

Nantun District, Taichung City, formerly known as "Litou Store", is now one of the earliest developed districts in Taichung City. There are many iron shops that manufacture agricultural tools in this area, like plows. Therefore, the Old Street here is also known as Plow Street.

Located in the Old Street, the 300-year-old Wanhe Temple, is the oldest temple in the City.

The famous Lin Jin Sheng Cake Store has a history of 144 years since its establishment. First, the owner was the noodle maker. Then he added a special local plant muâ-ínn to the cakes, creating a famous unique charm .

In front of the Lin Jin Sheng Xiang Cake Store is a triangular street exit, because three roads met here. The building built at the crossroad is a splendid Barcelona-style architecture, a perfect combination of eastern and western architectural characteristics. These landscapes reveal the mixture of different peoples having had active life for hundreds of years.
