Cyber Club Reflections
Q1: After joining the Cyber Club, what’s your thoughts on birds’ bio food chain and the Nature Study teachers’ job?
Q2: If more “amazing creatures” visit the Nature Area, how will you assist our teachers?
Q3: Compared with other clubs in our school, how is the Cyber Club different? What have you learned from this club?

Since I joined the Cyber Club, I found out that there are a lot of things to do and there is a lot to learn. Sometimes I even have to work after school. Even though it’s not easy, I think it is meaningful because we are saving lives. Our Nature Study teachers, Mr.Kai and Ms.Tree, have been putting a lot of effort in helping wild animals that visit our school. I really admire them because they are like heroes who save lives, which also makes me want to have a job that is related to nature when i grow up.

I learned a lot after joining the Cyber Club, including knowledge about birds, biological food chains, and ecological conservation. After we interviewed our nature study teachers, not only I learned the reasons why the number of birds decreases so fast, which makes everyone in our club have sympathy with these poor creatures, I also learned about the history of the nature area in our school and most importantly, the spirit of it. Helping our teachers stack leaves in the nest box and hooking it on a branch make us all feel a sense of accomplishment. I realized that being a Nature Study teacher is not an easy job. While our teachers are teaching us knowledge about nature, they also show us the importance of ecological conservation by devoting themselves to it. It is truly admirable. I remember our teachers once said, ”When new birds come to visit our school, we should first observe their habits, keep distance from them and their habitats, and then we think about ways to help them, like making a nest home or planting trees. I think since I joined the club, I not only learned more about birds, I also love Nature Study class more. Now I can teach more students in our school how to take care of these precious birds.

Thanks to the Cyber Club, from a little girl that didn't know the basic knowledge of birds, I became a bird lover. In this club, I know why many birds are decreasing, and I also know why Kang Chiao set aside the nature area. Ever since I knew the difficulties of birds, I started to feel sympathetic over them, and I fell in love with nature. In the past, I thought our Natural Study teachers were very mean, and insects shouldn’t be in our world. But, after I joined the Cyber Club, I knew that teachers aren't mean. They answer all your questions. I also knew that insects are important to our world because the food chain will break and many creatures can’t survive without them. Moreover, joining the Cyber Club makes me understand the importance of teamwork. I definitely won't be able to finish the project if it weren’t for everybody’s hard work. Thank you for teaching me so much, Cyber Club!

Joining the Cyber Club makes me learn all about bird conservation, ecosystem, climate change, and knowledge about migratory birds and resident birds. After interviewing our Nature Study teachers, Mr. Kai and Ms. Tree, I also understood the reasons why birds come to our school to build nests, and the importance of ecological conservation. The Cyber Club has taught me various skills and knowledge, and more importantly, I learned that as long as we work together, we can achieve our goals.

Before joining the Cyber Club, I hated insects and spiders. I also hated seeing animals eating animals. I think that is really cruel, and it makes me scared. After joining Cyber Club, we started to know more about birds after our research and interview with nature study teachers. At first, I heard that birds eat crickets, I still think that image is disturbing, but after knowing the reason why they do that, I don’t feel the same anymore.

Ever since I joined the Cyber Club, I realized that this club is very different from other clubs. In this club, I learned so much valuable information about the biological food chains, bird restoration, and special features of different bird species. I no longer hold a stereotype of nature, which I thought was messy and cruel, instead, I’ve learned to appreciate it and further, respect it. “Action speaks louder than words.” When we helped with the activities of bird restoration by hanging the nest boxes on the trees for collared scops owls, I know that the knowledge itself isn’t the most valuable, but the experiences of us taking action. Even though there’s a lot of work to do in the Cyber Club, I feel very rewarded.

It is the second time I have joined the cyber club. The experience seemed to be a lot different. I still remember when I was in grade 5. I had no idea about the cyber club. I can not come up with my own opinions. This time I had a lot of different thoughts about the cyber club. I was able to lead the juniors to what they were supposed to do. I could contribute more to the project. Also, I wanted to make the website better, better than last time. Joining the cyber club can let us practice searching skills. We can find out the problem and fix it. There are always a lot of details for us to search. We learn to share our ideas, so we have chances to discuss and try. The club teaches us many skills. Also, we can show off our skills to our classmates. Joining the cyber club is a great experience. Not everybody has the opportunity to experience the fun. Although it is a lot of work and it can be tiring, we still cherish the time here. This club lets me learn a lot.

Cyber club is a club that is much different from other clubs. I learn about birds and the Nature Area, and that helps me get rid of the bad impression of birds. It makes me very interested in nature. I’ve learned so much about ecology and the different species of birds. In order to have the scops owls come back to Kang Chiao, we made a nest box for them and put it in the nature area. The Nature Area has various ecosystems, and the school maintains them very well, so that birds have a good place to live. I believe in the future there will definitely be many more birds living in the natural area. The cyber club gave me a chance to realize the importance of preserving birds. I hope after we finish the web page, we can continuously spread out the importance of preserving birds,so that people and birds can live on this beautiful land together.

I have loved nature since I was a little boy. I used to play with the squirrels, dance like a butterfly, and sing with the frogs. I would jump around on the rocks in the middle of the stream. The thing that made me most curious was the birds flying in the air. Why can they fly? How do they do that? This question got stuck in my head for a long time. When we were choosing our own club at the beginning of this semester, I saw the option “Cyber Club”. At first, I didn’t know a bit of this club, so I just ignored it. Later, I heard people talking about CyberFair, and they were saying that the research topic for this year was about nature. Without any hesitation, I signed up for the club audition and became one of the ten club members. Ever since I joined Cyber Club, I have known more about birds and got even more interested in them. Even though there’s a lot of work to do, like typing documents and organizing the research results, I still got to participate in many activities such as hanging the birdhouse for collared scops Owls and observing the Malayan Night-Heron's baby...etc. Through these activities, I have become more interested and familiar with birds. I’ve learned a lot since I joined Cyber Club.
