We were very pleased to interview the general manager of Mushroom Tribe Ecological Leisure Farm – Mr. Fang, Shi Wen, who imparted the techniques of mushroom cultivation to us. The interview content is as follows:

The traditional mushroom farms used black canvas nets or, an easier approach, iron stands to cultivate mushrooms because the cost is relatively low but the quality isn’t stable and is more prone to pollution. Also, when growing mushroom, they are more likely resorting to pesticide. Since 1992, Xun You Biotechnology devoted fully to fungus production. In 1999, it imported Japanese environmental control software and hardware equipment and through automation equipment, it precisely automated fungus production modules to reach 99% high quality yield.

By using reverse osmosis water system to maintain humidity in the pace, mushrooms grow stronger and more solid, and its trophic structure is revived. Blue ray is also used to make mushrooms sturdier and more nutritious. The polysaccharide in it helps strengthen immune system.

Mushrooms is a very good ingredient. We grow mushrooms through a safe mode and obtained ISO20002, which is a packaging certificate. We also have organic certification, so our production process is reassuring. You can ingest plentiful nutrition in our mushrooms.

You are all welcomed to become tech farmers in the future. There’s one thing you have to know, in advanced countries such as Holland, Germany and America, on average, the national highest - income earners are farmers. Perhaps there’s a stereotype in Taiwan that generally considers farmers as a disadvantage walk of life, but this notion is wrong. Farmers are gradually becoming high-income earners. Take, for example, the farmers in Holland. In 2018, their incomes have reached 2800,000 NT dollars a year on average. It is a very promising career so you are welcomed to learn to become a tech farmer.

Besides mushroom cultivation, Mushroom Tribe also provides customers with a place to travel, to receive farmer education and environmental education. We hold on to the principles to produce stable and safe-quality food, and, hopefully, more teen farmers will join us in growing new types of mushrooms, which will benefit customers in Taiwan.

There are not many kinds of mushrooms in Europe, so mushroom industry is going to be a promising business in the future. Once you get a chance to sell them worldwide and to establish factories in other countries with automated and intellectualized equipment to reduce transportation cost, that is the most ideal goal for the industry.
