Tasty Dim Sum
Yummy Fried Chicken
Yummy Fried Chicken is the name of the food stand. The fried chicken is just as yummy as its name indicates. It is pretty yummy. The snack from this food stand is also on the list of must-buy snacks for many people when visiting Nanjichang.
Yummy Fried Chicken is not a chain store. This food stand is popular because of its affordable price and the size of the fried chicken. Everyone waits patiently in order to have a bite of that crispy, golden fried chicken which is bigger than the size of my face. Although the line is always long, crowds do not have to wait too long in line because of those fast-moving hands and the owner’s experienced frying skills. The juicy chicken with a crispy covering will be worth the wait.

Taiwanese Meatballs
Nanjichang Community might be a shabby place, but can you imagine that CNN came to interview the owner of a food stand in Nanjichang Night Market? This particular food stand sells Taiwanese meatballs, which are sold out in the blink of an eye every day.
Taiwanese meatballs are also known as Changwa meatballs. They originated from Changhua, a city in Taiwan. Taiwanese meatball is covered with chewy dough and is fried in a hot pan until the dough becomes transparent. Inside the dough is a special meatball that is completely different from the meatballs we might see in Ikea. The chef usually adds bamboo shoots and pork legs when making the meatball. It is quite unbelievable how this food stand has managed to stay in business because they only sell two items - Taiwanese meatballs and soup. That means the meatballs must be very delicious. The food stand caught CNN’s attention because its meatballs usually sell out at 3 in the afternoon, which means you will not be able to buy it if you come to the night market at night. Therefore, come on time and do not miss it!

Lai Lai Dumpling
Dumplings are popular all over the world. Even in western countries, people can still buy frozen dumplings from many supermarkets. A challenge is posed, then, when one has to to make sure a dumpling stand can survive among all other competitors.
Wandering in the Nanjichang Night Market, we could see a lot of dumpling stands. Lai Lai Dumpling is the only dumpling stand that has been selling dumplings for around 30 years. Similar to other food stands in Nanjichang, Lai Lai Dumpling also sells a single food item only - dumplings. The signature dish of Lai Lai Dumpling is the dumpling made with chinese cabbage mixed with minced pork. Chinese cabbage tastes sweet, tender, and juicy. The chef remains busy from the moment the stand opens until it closes. The sight of dumplings boiling in the pan attracts many passersby. While waiting for the dumplings, we recommend that you also have a bowl of hot-and-sour soup. The combination of dumplings with hot-and-sour soup will certainly not disappoint.
