Kitchen plate patterns are various. The most
common patterns of the old plates are fish,
shrimp and fish. According to the interview, Zhu Fangben’s
wife told us that Taiwanese people were
very poor in the past. Since they couldn’t eat
big fish, they simply bought a plate with fish
and shrimp, or symbolized with the meal of fish
and meat. Interestingly, these patterns have a
layer of meaning behind them. As long as the
food that poor people are not able to eat , all
of them will appear. There are colorful bowls of fish,
shrimp, chicken, duck, cow and sheep.
Look at these old things carefully, they are
handmade. Each color is different, and these
dishes are handmade kiln.
The pores are rough.
It takes a long time to see the traces of the
sauce color infiltrated into the dishes. Each
dish is unique. The hand-made dishes are not as
elaborate as the factory's large format.
Sometimes, the dishes are printed with the year
or the gifter.
Early Taiwanese hand-painted dishes flourished
with Taiwanese characteristics, such as fish and
shrimp, coconut wind seascape, or auspicious
patterns such as Meilan Zhuju and Fu Lushou.
They all reflect the
social culture at that time. |
