Fude Temple on Dianzai Street is a popular temple with a wide variety of deities. Through the survey, we wanted to find out people’s habit of worshipping, deities of choice, and how well they know about the activities promoted by the temple. In turn, we hope to come up with recommendations for improvement to the temple.

A: Most people pray for safety, a small portion pray because they happen to pass by.

A: Besides Earth God, Tiger God, Earth God’s wife, Mazu, and Five-way Wealth Gods are also popular.

Q: Did you know about the replacing paper money with rice initiative by the temple?


A: Most worshippers knew about it.

Suggestions by worshippers

Q: Does Fude Temple on Dianzai Street mean anything special to you?

A:Most worshippers think the temple would bring them safety. We came across a local police officer praying for public safety.

Q: Do you want the temple to make any changes?

A:Four worshippers think the temple is doing just fine, and there is no need to change. Some worshippers want to see a reduction in incense sticks burning to improve the air quality.

Discoveries

We found out that Fude Temple on Dianzai Street offers peace of mind to worshippers. When people came across an obstacle, they would come here to worship for emotional support. Some worshippers think the temple may not be perfect, but it has already become a place for them to worship every week.
Most worshippers do not burn paper money, and some worshippers even worshipped without burning incense sticks. The temple is doing an amazing job promoting its environmental protection initiatives.
