Picasso at Lu Jiang

After the activities of broadcasting, prize quiz, Achievements Presentation of Associations, and classroom promotion, we believed that the topic of the Cyberfair project--Luzhou Soup Noodle was no longer strange to the students of all grades of our school. Thus, we followed up the victory with a painting contest--"Picasso Painting Soup Noodle" in order to preserve the complete concept of Luzhou Soup Noodle among the students and deepen their understanding by painting. Our team members wanted to analyze and understand what the most important part of the delicacy was for them, which would be a specific reference in our future promotion of Soup Noodle. |

Painting noodles
These were the paintings of low-grade students. As we could see, they focused on the simple manifestation of noodles and bowls. The noodles were painted in different lines and colors. They cared the most about the edible noodles. The noodles looked tasty. They also painted the ingredients. They indeed had tasted the grass-root delicacy with their families. |
These were the paintings by the students of higher grades. Besides more accurate grasp of lines and colors, they added words to enhance their feelings. Especially, after the presentation and classroom promotion, they had more understanding of the topic. Thus, their paintings were enriched!

Painting noodles and people
These were the paintings by the students of middle and high grades. Besides the fine noodles, they painted the people who "were eating noodles". From their satisfying facial expression, we could deduct that the Soup Noodle was so yummy. There were various appetizers on the tables and ingredients in the bowls, including sauces on the table and so on. Their pictures were richer and richer, which showed their deep impression of the Soup Noodle shops. |
Painting noodles, people, shops, and feelings |
In this group of paintings, we could not only see noodles, appetizers, and guests, but also the environment, furnishings, and atmosphere of the Soup Noodle shops. Some used cartoon-like characters to express their creative ideas. Some used comic-style painting to show the dynamic process of the noodle shops. Some emphasized the objects in the shops, such as, bamboo sieve, menu, shop sign, Soup Noodle Doll, and so on. These works vividly depicted the Soup Noodle shops as if we were sitting there and eating sweet-smelling noodles with yummy appetizers. The shops were busy with people coming and going. |
The Power of Little Picasso
We selected several most excellent works (See below). From the observation, imagination, and creation of the students, we realized that Soup Noodle had taken root deeply in their hearts. |
This painting focused on "noodles". Though the colors the student used were not bright, by a close look, you would find much amazing content! We could sense the soft taste of the noodles and the al dente pork. Plus the two appetizers, meat, tea egg, and sauces, it could really make people's mouths watering. The student also painted chopsticks and spoons, inviting us to enjoy the yummy Soup Noodle together. |
Different from other students, the student who painted this painting paid attention to the "chef who was cooking noodles". The chef dressed tidily and cleanly. And he was happy while cooking. The cooking utensils he used were also shown in the painting to reveal the characteristics of a traditional Soup Noodle shop. The red brick well in the background conveyed the ancient, sweet, and caring atmosphere of the shop. |
This painting depicted mainly the "customers" in a Soup Noodle shop. From the behavior and facial expression, we could see that most of them were family members or friends who came to have noodles together. It matched well with what we saw during our field surveys. The customers went to the Soup Noodles due to its wide spread reputation. They came with their families and friends to enjoy the cheap yet tasty delicacy. |
This work was extremely vivid. It contained almost all the key content of a Soup Noodle shop, including noodles, appetizers, chef, customers, stoves, shop sign, menu, tables, chairs, and other business equipment. The interaction between the chef and customers brought about vitality into the painting. It seemed that more and more people would go to the shop, while the chef could never stop cooking. |
