Log

Today Ms. Li let us practice for the English singing competition. She corrected our facial expressions and pronunciation.

We also practiced the three-piece clapper and learned how to start and end clapping. Later, we practiced saluting and starting and ending clappers in groups.

Findings

Tongue twisters are just like rap songs in English, and we need to learn ways to do it well.
When we are on stage, we need to stand up-right, eyes looking forward, and always wear a smile.
When we sing, we do not need to shout, just sing gently. Otherwise, we may damage our throat.

Findings

In every shuochang class, Ms. Li would always get us into two groups to have a competition. The group with a better performance would score points. The points are tabulated at the end of each class.

Log

Today I learned about cross talks duo and ‘Knowledge Level’ and watched a rather funny cross talks video. Ms. Li taught us to greet the audience and tell them our names before we start performing.

Findings

When performing cross talks duo, we spend roughly 30% of the time facing our partner and the other 70% facing the audience.
There are three types of cross talks. Cross talks monologue is performed by one person. Cross talks duo is performed by two people. Group cross talks is performed by three or more people.
