Mommy Wu recalls those words coming out from the mouth of two cute little sisters and touching Daddy Wu and Mommy Wu very much.
To become a foster family is to start a brand new life. “Foster family is not just responsibility only, but it is also like having a new born baby. We have to provide food, clothing, housing, and transportation to the kids, fulfill the kids’ material needs, think how to educate and guide them, and concern about their growth and development all the time.”
The focus Mommy Wu’s life is thus changed, and her mind is totally on foster children and she spends lots of time to take care of them and reduces her own leisure and daily activity. “I used to practice yoga and play erhu in the community center every night, and I no longer play erhu after being a foster family”. The versatile Mommy Wu is often invited to perform on stage. Recalling the memory of young age, Mommy Wu said lightly, “That was some years ago…”
Although Mommy Wu sacrifices some of her leisure and recreation time for the foster children, taking care of the children lets her experience and understand the pure heart for getting along with the innocent children, and this achievement from another aspect is a different type of harvest. Just like the Daddy Wu’s plague “Between Gain and Loss” hung in the dining room to encourage himself. What is gain and what is loss? It cannot explain all that in just a few words or tell from the superficial side within a short time. Looking at the mutual learning about life and growth between the foster children and her, Mommy Wu discovers that this is the most touching gift in the journey of life.
