Frustrations
After Mr. Jui-Wen Chen’s JW Eco-Technology had won numerous awards and had received international recognitions, he was convinced that experts and scholars saw the positive impact his invention could have on the world. He grew more confident in his belief that the JW Eco-Technology is truly a way to improve the environment. Therefore, he made an important decision – he wanted to dedicate the patent of his invention to his country.
He thought if the Taiwanese government could adopt the JW Eco-Technology into its road construction, the entire country could be a “sponge kingdom” that can store water, adjust to extreme temperature changes, and purify the air we breathe. We would be free of the threatening effects of pollution and the heat island effect. At the same time, the government could promote this eco-technology; not only can the government reap an enormous financial profit from countries abroad, it can also reduce the effects of global warming, extreme weathers, and air pollution.
With enthusiasm, Mr. Jui-Wen Chen wrote to the president at that time, Mr. Shui-Bian Chen. A month later, a letter from the Secretary-General to the President read, “Thank you! With appreciation!” With only a few words in response, Mr. Jui-Wen Chen’s offer was rejected.
In 2008, President Ma Ying-Jeou came into office. Mr. Jui-Wen Chen wrote to the president once again. It is said that the request was sent to the Executive Yuan for discussion, but Mr. Jui-Wen Chen still has not yet received a reply.
During our interview with Mr. Jui-Wen Chen, he smiled and told us that maybe God does not want him to be lazy. It was him who invented the JW Eco-Technology, so God must have wanted him to be thorough in his work and promote the JW Eco-Technology by himself. Thus, he began his journey of promoting his invention.
