1-3 Research Methods

Our web project utilizes both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to better probe the questions we proposed. We used survey to collect quantitative data in order to learn the general public thoughts on the development of classical music related events and their impacts on the cultural development in Kaohsiung City. Analyzing the survey data enabled us to better understand the pros and cons of the music education and cultural development in Kaohsiung City. Qualitatively, we conducted in-depth interviews with music professions in diverse careers to learn from their opinions on how music professions can work on a variety of careers and generate their comments on how music education and cultural related events can be better developed in Kaohsiung City. Applications on how music education and cultural development can be better addressed are suggested in the end of our web project.
