Members Gratitude

Ting-yu Li

When I first joined Cyberfair project, I was not active in participating and even thought abut backing out. I got lazier when faced with so many articles to write, but when I saw that the other students were working hard on it, I started to do the same. After some time, I became more familiar with what I did not know in the first place. I gained a lot of knowledge. Although there setbacks, I gained more confidence and fulfillment through the encouragement of the teacher and parents. I hope we can keep working toward our goal and have an ideal result. I’ve learned a lot.  I would like to thank the teachers who had always been with us along the way. Without you, I would not be able to participate in Cyberfair project and carry it through.

I want to thank the workers and bosses of sewing workshop for accepting our interviews and sharing their childhood memories as well as their experiences and thoughts working on garment factories. This was very helpful to our Cyberfair project. I wish they can have more orders and make more money. Thank Ms. Hsu for teaching us how to make lucky zong and rabbit toy, which made the contents of our Cyberfair project more diverse. We also learned sewing skills and were able to teach others. Thank the teachers for instructing us. They not only helped us learn computer skills, but also reminded us what improvements to make. They spend a lot of time and effort on Cyberfair project. I wish we can get the award.

I would like to all the people including Cyberfair project teachers, students, my parents and people who supported me. The teachers had to take us to the interviews and activities. They also had to read our articles often and gave suggestions. They even had to see us type articles on weekends and holidays. It was not easy. The students went to the interviews with me. We discuss the questions together. They helped me when I had difficulties. Without the support of the family, I could not have been able to participate in the Cyberfair project and stay to its end. Thank you all for your support. I wish our works can be better than that of elder students and gain the award.

I was happy to work with everyone to present the past glory of early garment industry. The students were able to do something for their native cultures and history. I want to thank the teachers for asking me to join in the Cyberfair project. I learned unity, respect, friendship and more importantly, the fact that small efforts can also make a difference to the history. I also want to thank Ya-guan’s uncle and Yi-ping’s father as well as those aunts. They provided us a lot of data. I wish that the garment industry can regain its prosperity and make another Taiwan economic miracle.

Ya-guan Wang

Many people have helped us in this Cyberfair project. Thank your 3 teachers and the aunts in garment factory. They answered all of our questions and we gained a lot. Although we had many difficulties, we carried it through. Although it is hard, we will stick it out and work toward our goal. It’s already close to the end. We have hold on. Come on!

I want to thank some people for this Cyberfair project: I want to thank my parents for supporting me and making time to join some of the activities with me. I want to thank the teachers for waiting for me when I had to be late for the class. They told me what the students did or give me the lessons they just had. I also want to thank the students for being cooperative in our activities and writing worksheets. (It was hard work!). In the end, I want to thank our teachers again [Teachers Guan-you Guo, Ching-chien Chan and Li-hsun Lai] for guiding us through the Cyberfair project (I know it was hard work). I wish we can always have your support!

Chi-yuan Huang

It has been 5 months since I joined the Cyberfair project. It was my happiest in 6 years to do study with everyone. Our topic was the sewing workshops in the alleys. Most of them are in San Lu area, but some are in places like Wugu. They are decaying, making Taiwan more dependants on imported clothes. MIT (Made In Taiwan) is fading away. I have thought about the reason behind it. It is because few young people want to do this job. So the workers in the garment industry are mainly old women. Young people only want to work in offices where there are air conditioners. I wish the garment industry and sewing workshops can regain their past glory. I wish through this promotion, more young people will join in it. Through this activity I learned the importance of teamwork. Without you, I may not have the result I have now. Thank you.
