Principle:
In order for an ordinary sewing machine to work, both the upper and the bottom sides have to be operated simultaneously, as the sewing machine only have an upper needle, on the contrary, hand sewing could fix the cloth through one thread. So this type of machine could fix only when both the upper and bottom sides are combined. The needle brings the upper thread to the back of the cloth, and combines with the bottom thread after circling in the bottom bobbin case. In this way, the cloth is fixed.

Old-fashioned sewing machine: this type of machine is a family operated sewing machine in the early times that do not use electronic power, on the contrary, its working principle is that the feet-driven pedal at the bottom drives the machine through belt.
