President Cheng believes that his grandmother Ms. Su-yau Cheng has exerted the greatest influence on him. Single-handedly raising four children at the age of twenty, she also served as nurse in the infirmary of Changhua Girls’ Senior High School, and her children have all contributed to society in one way or another.

Back in the day, her income as a public servant was exceedingly low, yet in spite of which, she instilled in President Cheng the virtue of sharing, the importance of owning just enough to get by and extending a helping hand to those in need, and the habit of pocketing no money that one does not rightfully own. His parents were both deeply influenced by his grandmother as well.
