Coreopses

Coreopses have thin stems. They bend forward and backward from time to time. They may look tiny and fragile, but they bolt upright while wavering in the wind. They bring immense hope to people all the time. When people are in the coreopsis sea, they forget their tense emotions as if the flowers have some magical powers.

As for the appearance of coreopses, each flower has eight petals. Genetic improvement changes the flower color. Now we have coreopses in white or in pink. Some coreposes have alternative petals in white and pink. Coreopses look pretty and exquisite in every color. There are supporters of each color in the Renhe Elementary School’s project team. Despite the fact that each team member has his or her own reason and opinion, one thing can be certain—each color is beautiful!

Coreopses grow well under warm and sunny environment. Just like the late winter and early spring of Tainan, which is also the time we started working on our project, the weather is still warm and sunny and very suitable for coreopses to grow.

During the project activities, our teacher told us that the flower whisper of coreopses if “the innocence of maidens.” It means purity, virtue, freedom, and happiness.

The most beautiful blanket of Mother Nature

No one can resist falling in love with the lovely little coreopses wavering in the wind!

In the past month, several cold current came. Nearly every day was chilly. One day, the sun finally shone. Our teacher felt the heat of the sun and said to the team members excitingly, “Let’s go! Let’s take a walk in the “backyard garden”!

To experience the benefits of the community near our school thoroughly has always

been a goal of Renhe Elementary School.

Setting off from our school, we walked along the path outside the school’s back door and got through the familiar Erkong Community. We walked and walked and our teacher said the buildings on the two sides of the path that we were walking would soon be demolished by the Government. (Erkong New Residential Quarter situates at Renai Village and Renhe Village of Jende Township of the old Tainan County. It used to be the military family housing in early years. After years of planning and reestablishing, it is going to enter a brand new age this year.)

Decorating the environment; living an amazing life.

Beautiful scenes are everywhere on Sheng-Chan Road. It seems that they exist

exclusively for those who appreciate beauty.

As a group we got to Sheng-Chan Road via the path near our school. On the way we chatted and made quite some noises. As we saw that the grassland had been decorated with red, pink, and white, Ting-hsuan was the first one who couldn’t help scream out, “They flower! They flower! Coreopses flower…” Our teacher nodded with a faith smile and said, “Right! Coreopes flower!”

The most beautiful time of the backyard garden in a year came again. As the winter sun shone, the shadow of coconut trees exuberated. Even though you could still feel coldness in the wind, seeing coreopses everywhere in the chilly winter simple made everyone happy! No one seemed to remember the frigid wind that kept blowing onto our bodies at the moment!

Sheng-Chan Road is next to the flower sea. Whether it is during sunrise or sunset,

you can always see the beautiful scenery from the road.

When we crossed the street, our teacher exclaimed excitingly, “Hurry! Let’s go inside and take some photos for keeping the memory.” We then walked very carefully into the flower sea since we were afraid that we might step on the beautiful flowers. Seeing the glamorous coreopses waving in the wind, our emotion went high! The dancing coreopses radiated a sense of unlimited purity and elegance that touched our heart deeply. It was such a comfortable experience standing in the coreopsis sea while enjoying the gentle breezes.

While seeing the beautiful scenery in front of us, we reflected that beautiful scenery was everywhere in Taiwan. Many places have their own unique flowering seasons and species of flowers. Being students of Renhe Elementary School, we are all members of this community. We should now record the beauty of the colorful world of Sheng-Chan Road and tell our friends about it when we are back. The flowers on Sheng-Chan Road blossom again! The most bustling flowering season is going to start!

Its fame may not be bright, but the important thing is that it is closely related to our life. It means a deep interaction and interrelationship to us. This is why it is so different and so unique!
