We finally completed our website. We didn’t have the luxury of a
Computer classroom. Instead we were put into a temporary established
Cyberfair Project Work Room with uncomfortable chairs and little space.
In fact we had to be all squeezed into a tiny room. Nevertheless, we
overcame all obstacles. The
past two months of hard work were truly heart felt. However, after
seeing the final completed webpage, we’ve all forgotten about the
previous hardships. Nonetheless, there still remained some regretful
moments. Due to the fact that we’ve posted some self-made films, there
wasn’t enough space to post the teaching films of our self-composed
songs. It was a real pity. During all this time, we are most grateful
to our instructing teachers, those who we have interviewed and all who
had helped us. Without all your help we couldn’t have completed the
webpage. Here we would like to say thank you to you all. Thank you
very much!

Thanks to the help of Aunty Mei-chu and Brother Wei-chang of “Peasant
Association of Chutang., we were given the opportunity to interview the
Shen-Non Prize winner this afternoon. We had made several previous
attempts to get in contact with the Prize winner, but were in vain.
This time we were finally given the opportunity to interview such a
prestigious person. Hence, marked a beautiful ending to the Cyberfair
project. However, we got to organize and post the interview data
quickly, before it’s too late!

會This afternoon our Tuku Exploration Team
members were divided into two groups. Each group was given two major
tasks to quickly complete. One task was to finish posting any unposted
data onto the webpage. Another task would be to edit the film with the
aid of the film editing software, Coral VideoStudio. First, the teacher
performed a demonstration of how to use the software. Then we started
to work on it. It sure wasn’t easy. ur eyes just couldn’t take it
anymore. Thankfully, we divided the workload.

The truth is we had already visited the wet grain plant before. But,
due to the noise level at the plant, the interview was not successful.
Today we have returned. Thank s to the support of Yeedon Enterprise; we
are able to visit the wet grain plant again. Today we have allocated
more people to the filming division. We have increase the number of filming
crew to 5 people; three on digital camera, one on digital camcorder and
one on recording pen. We believe we will achieve better results this
time. Luckily, there were trucks shipping wet grains at the time. So we
got to see the whole operation process. It was fantastic!

Today, the webpage division had completed
the initial stage of webpage making. Included were the webpage structure
which we had discussed using mind mapping. With the help of the teacher
and discussion between the members, we had come up with a banner.
Everybody think that it was great. Of course, there were still some
webpage effects which need fixing. The teacher showed us some commonly
used html syntaxes. Wow! He is really good at it!!!!

Today we visited San-Hao Rice Mill and interviewed its Chairman,
Hsi-quan Chen. We had first prepared 30 questions for the interview.
Chairman Chen’s replies were so fast and complicated. We weren’t able
to write down all his answers. Luckily our teacher brought a recording
pen. I guess we won’t be able to organize the notes until we get back
to school!

us. He warmly welcomed us and brought us to a huge conference room to
settle down. It’s as if we were very important people. We were
embarrassed. Since, we were the ones who came to bother him. Chairman
Chen even gave each of us a box of the Classic Premium Rice. We were so
happy! HAPPY!

connected the camcorder to the computer, we realized that we had filmed

right away. If not, it’s really too time consuming!

This afternoon, after school we visited Chairman Chen! I was so
nervous!!!
I am in the filming division, so I filmed quite a bit of stuff! As I
follow by our teacher’s side apart from worrying about not taking good
films, I also had to worry about tripping and breaking the machine I
had in my hand. But to tell you the truth, a rice mill factory is no
quiet place. It’s so noisy! I can hardly hear what the respondent was
saying!

Being in the filming division, I had also learned how to film and take
photos. Especially when I was filming the automatic packaging process,
I had to chase after a bag of rice and make sure the camcorder does not
qhiver in my hands. If not, the image would come out unclear. I
remembered this single scene took me five takes to finally get it
right. I f inally understand that being a film director is no easy job!

Today is the third time we, the Tuku Exploration Team had visited
San-Hao Rice Mill. Apart from interviewing Chairman Chen, we had also
read an excellent company briefing. This had made us realize that the
scale of our neighbor, San-Hao Rice Mill is that much greater. We are
truly amazed. Chairman Chen warmly welcomed us, and carefully responded
to all our questions. The filming division had taking quite a few good
films. We had filmed and taken pictures of the production facilities
and the process of workers transferring goods. Finally Chairman Chen
gave each of us a package of Taigeng No. 9 Premium Rice. We are so
lucky. We will take great care to complete our mission!

Tomorrow, we the Tuku Exploration Team are about to visit San-Hao Rice
Mill for the third time. Apart from asking questions which had not been
asked previously, the whole focus of the mission would be on the
filming division. Since, the pictures taken in the previous two visits
lack central theme and the qualities of the pictures taken were poor.
We really have to outdo ourselves this time. Today our teacher did a
special demonstration on how to not film with quivering hands. Our
teacher also taught us that photos taken must have a theme. You just
can’t take photos of everything. The interview division did well. I guess,
we the filming division will have to do better next time!

Today our teacher taught us how to create overlap images. We learned
that if a photo has not been fixed with either overlap image or special
effects, it would appear bland. It would appear uninteresting. Our
teacher also did a demonstration on several special effects from the
Tool Bar. He also allowed us to work on hand some of the most common options
from the tool bar. My
favorite options are the flashlight and border special effects. They
were easy to use and they make the theme standout more. It’s fantastic!

He also demonstrated on how to make banners and buttons. It’s a
real eye-opener. I got to learn it fast!

Today our teacher gave us an introduction on IT products we don’t
usually see; such as the recording pen. A recording pen can record the
interview directly in mp3 format. Computer conversion is not necessary.
Of the different kinds of recording equipment we are most familiar with
the operation of digital camera. However, knowing how to operate it
does not guarantee a pretty picture. The use of angles and lighting is
also critical. The digital camcorder is one of which we had never used
better. We are still not familiar with its operations. Guess we will
have to spend more time practicing after school.

This is the first time we’ve ever met Chairman Chen. He is a very kind

interest in our research and is willing to cooperate with us. He gave
us a basic introduction of the plant, its operations and facilities. We
believe with the full support of Chairman Chen, our research would be
