Difference between knife and sword

The spirit and significance contained in a sword mean the short edge tool with a sharp tip used in battles. 
Knife is a utensil just like the cutter called nowadays, which is not necessarily used in battles. It is lack of lethality due to flat tip.
 
    For a better understanding on the knife and sword, we can divide them by their flat or sharp tips, which are the characteristics to be distinguished by us at a glance.

1. Pigeon Mail - Bamboo Pillar Box:
The ancient people mainly used it to transmit information and some enemy's situations. Its advantage is that someone picking it up will not see your privacy immediately. Ancient people used it mainly because that the other party could receive your message all at once thanks to its fast speed.

2. Tricuspid-edged Bayonet

It is a weapon specially used by the royalty and named after its tricuspid edge. Ancient people used it to break through the chain amour and fish-scale armor since it could march ahead taking the advantage of a loophole and give a deep strike to the enemy. Its handle was inlaid with jades, pearls, corals and agates as ornaments.

5. Emei Sword

Ancient peopleused Emei Sword to train the people of Emei Clan thanks to its legerity to help them triumph over the opponents in battles.

A: It is dexterous and widely used, e.g. to train the soldiers.

 

6. Armor
