There are 237 questionnaires for the people in the community near TSA.

We do the survey in the parks and markets near TSA.

1. 74% of survey responders have lived here for more than 10 years. And 35% of them have lived here more than 30 years. Although the noise has always been the problem, they still choose to live here because of the good living quality.

2. 35% of the people live here because of the good living quality. 21~22 % of people live here because of being raised here and work. The environment has been connected to life here so closely that the airport has been seen as a part of life here.

3. About half people know that the airport has been built for 60 years, and most of them are old. It is easy for them to remember or to guess the years of TSA.

4. The percentage of the answer “yes” and “no” are very close. This is probably because they do not live very close to the airport or they are already used to the problem due to the airport.

5. Most of the survey responders think they benefit from easy traveling. And only 38% of them think the airport bring the noise, traffic and security problems. In conclusion, most people think the advantages of the airport are outnumbered the disadvantages.

6. Around 70% of the survey responders have neutral feeling about the TSA. Only a few of them with political opinion would choose other answers. However, there are also people who like to give some suggestion to try to make it better in food offering and service.

7. Many of the people (80%) in the neighbor community have taken planes before. They choose to travel via TSA because of work, visiting or traveling. It shows the importance of the TSA in Taipei city.

8. Most of people would choose to go to the east or the south of Taiwan by taking plane in TSA. It is because it is faster and efficient. However, some of them would choose to go there by high speed train instead because it is cheaper and fast too.

9. Most of the people who are on work would choose to take planes because it is fast and the air tickets are paid by the company. However for those who are going to the west of Taiwan would like to take high speed train because it is cheaper and without the time for waiting for the plane, it is more time- saving.

10. There are 75 % of the survey responders disagree to abolish TSA. They think it is convenient for them to take the plane if there is an airport in the downtown of Taipei.

11. For those who agree to abolish TSA, they care about the noise most. There are also many survey responders agree the abolishment of TSA because it impede the plan of the metropolis renewal. Some people even think it is a good idea to replace the airport with a big green park.

12. For people who disagree to abolish TSA, most of them (75%) think the airport bring them travel convenience and good transportation system while only 20% of them think the airport bring them tourists and business opportunities. Actually, most of the tourists would just leave this area by bus. So they do not make much contribution to local economy.

13. Most of the people (32%) think the airport should create a green environment and 25% of them think it is necessary to reduce the noise. Only 20% of them focus on the ground transportation and 18% of them would like it to improve its building appearance. This result shows for people in Taipei, the need of the environmental protection is more important than others

14. Most of people (33%) think the improvement of the transportation system is the biggest change over these years. With the MRT stop by, it saves more time. And there are 32% of people impressed by its self-operation. It is probably because after it becomes an international airport, many of them have left the country here directly via TSA.
