Li Bo Yuan
Professor Li graduated from the art department of National Taiwan Normal University and had taught art in high school for several years . In his mid-life, he took to meditation. After retiring at age the of sixty, he went to Europe and US. He lived in New York and Paris, which are cities of art,to look closely at his art skill and art style. During this period, he turned to be a full-time artist and wandered unhurriedly in Western art. In his early age, he absorbed various kinds of culture, such as literature, music, drawing and so on. And most of those were something immense, ebullient, full of enthusiasm and acquired from the West. In his mid-life, he found Western art's deficiency. Due to his age and life experience, he gradually favored something modest and implicit, such as Chinese calligraphy , Eastern painting, Buddhism and so on. Among all of these, Buddhism influenced him most. God is the main inspiration in his later works. |
