To experience how residents’ life style was, we took part in the “1213 come & play at Losheng” activity, held by the volunteer parents of Losheng. It was the same day of the opening day at Losheng Sanatorium, therefore, it’s especially meaningful.
Session Elaboration
Before entering the session, the host will elaborate the rules. Each kid will be given a direction map and collect card. If you pass one session, you got one point.
Activity I
Material: Buttoned shirt, iron-made hook
To have the shirts bucked, you need to have flexible fingers. However, many residents have problems because of the amputation or the atrophy. The solution is to use the iron-made hook to get through the button then buckled it. This session enables kids to fully experience it.《Top》
Activity II
Material: bottles, cups, socks, sticky paster
The session was to simulate how the residents open the bottles without fingers. Therefore, we designed this activity to let kids learn to open the bottles with their feast wrapped with socks.《Top》
Activity III
Material: rope, wand
This activity enables people to learn how to walk as disabled people. 《Top》
Activity IV
Material: washbasin, wheelchair
This activity was to help the people on a wheelchair. Two kids as a team. One on the wheelchair and carry a washbasin with full water and another kid need to push the wheelchair without spitting out the water. 《Top》
Activity V
Material: goggles with black paster
Let the kids experience how to act as a blind people. Also, be another kid’s instructor to tell them how to find things with their eyes covered. 《Top》
