About forty years ago, a group of makerss of Fuzhou string noodles moved to Mucha, Taipei, where they launched the business of handmade string noodles and supplied nearly all the market of Great Taipei with string noodles at that time. In those days, there were people drawing noodles every day, and on clear days, shining in the sun were drapes of string noodles scattered throughout the streets, which in itself became marvellous scenery. However, with the development of Taipei into an international metropolis, the gradually deteriorating environmental pollution and the changed working and dietetic habits have led to the decline of the Mucha string noodles from the height of their prosperity.
