Kaohsiung Train Station was originally built during the Japanese Colonial Rule period. The building was designed to look like the Chinese character “”. It was later renovated and became one of the busiest train stations in Taiwan. When the construction of Kaohsiung Rapid Transit began, the old building of KTS was moved to a new location right next to the current new Kaohsiung Train Station. The old building will be preserved and turned into a museum.
The establishment of Taiwan Railway revolutionizes the lifestyle in Taiwan, for it offers the most efficient way to reach every major cities and towns around Taiwan. Taiwan Railway continues to carrying millions of passengers back and forth cities and towns with satisfying efficiency.
