Buildings and Carvings Grand Dawu
During the countryside investigation in Old Fawan, most of time, we visited these people over 60 years old for the relevant traditions about the Old Fawan, because the teenagers and adults were not very familiar with the conventions and the source of the tribe.
Depending on the abundant life experience and significant culture knowledge, these old people told us - the descendants of the Paiwan Tribe all the things with their enthusiasm. We were extremely moved so that we were willing to tell the next generation the historical stories, the origin tales and culture about this tribe. And we hope that the culture of the Paiwan Tribe will have a long history. The following photos are all about the persons who have worked with efforts for this report
1. Hsian-ren Jin (Legai):79 years old, who is in charge of teaching us how to make and play the traditional music instrument-nose flute, moreover, making us understand the construction process of the flagstone house.
2. Ding Hsu (Judy):78 years old, who is in charge of guiding us to the site of Gufa River Bend and the huge footprint in the legend.
3. Jin-de Tsai (Takanau):48 years old, who is in charge of guiding us to the site of Gufa River Bend and the huge footprint in the legend, moreover, teaching us using the shotgun.
4. Hui-mei Hsiao (Juju): 42 years old, who is the heritor of the leading Qapulu family in the Old Fawan. Thanks to her abundant historical knowledge, we get to understand the system of the Old Fawan chiefs and the traditional territory.
5. Feng-ying Yan (lailai):88 years old, who help us understand the process of tattoo on hands in Paiwan Tribe, the way of using implement and some relevant taboos.
