Originated from Ai-liao South River branches, Tsalisi Brook Waterfalls of the Old Fawan take their rise in the northwestern foot of the North Dawu Mt.. Because of the elevation of the mountains and the inconvenient traffic in this area, every imposing and powerful waterfall maintains the original beauties of purity and nature. What a miracle! The most famous ones are the Daigulavas Waterfall and the Daraban Waterfall. The waterfall near the top of a mountain was called Dadipi Waterfall in Taiwan. And the long slender streams murmuring from waterfalls are rushing down nearly 1000 feet. If you want to go there, you have to leave Majia Township Mansion for Majia Village via Beiye Inspection Sentry. This journey covers about 7 kilometers. Then go on traveling along the Mafa Road towards the east, after almost 8 kilometers’ long way, you will arrive the Old Fawan Tribe. In the southeast of the Old Fawan Tribe, there is the Daigulavas Waterfall. Walking down along the path, you will get to the destination in almost 40minutes. In addition, in the lower reaches of the Daigulavas Waterfall, there is the Daraban Waterfall which also belongs to the Ai-liao South River Waterfall group. Setting out off the Old Fawan Tribe, you will arrive there after almost one and a half hours.
The Daraban Waterfall is only about 20 meters high, but what a surprise is that waters pour out from slits of the rock. The pool here is wider than the one of the Daigulavas Waterfall. What’s more, the scenery of the Daraban Waterfall is so good as the former one. However, the way to the Daraban Waterfall is not so clear and the road condition is bad, if you want to, you must conquer the dangerous cliffs and spend almost 2 hours going back to the starting place. Only if you can find a local resident to lead the way, you’d better not go there by yourself. |
