In order to combine the project contents with the courses of our school, we designed a series of activities in the campus with a hope to stand out the theme of this project by blending various school activities with different-type promotions and to induce a more close interaction between our school and the community. We are of the opinion that care about and participation in hometown events and objects are the foundation of homeland education. Therefore, we show our affection toward this land starting from our campus. |

Project in the Theme Web Pages during Weekends

We were lucky to have a dedicated time space to make website pages in the school under our teachers' planning. We had 「Project in the Theme Web Pages during Weekends」 conducted on every Saturday, and a classroom equipped with computers. We could concentrate ourselves to the completion of this project in this good-quality learning environment.
We were appreciative of our school's strong supports, and determined to reciprocate it with our hard work and dedication to this project. We also noticed that, because of our school's appreciation for expanding information education and encouraging international view, our campus was filled with knowledge-seeking spirit.

Roasted Kiln --- the Outside Campus Teaching

In order for all teachers and students in our school to participate in our project, the Office of Training/Discipline and Office of Studies included the activity of "Roast Kiln" in outside campus teaching. This activity was an excellent opportunity for children growing up in cities to personally experiencing fun and attraction of the countryside.

We chose a forest in Taoyuan to conduct this activity. The scenery was beautiful and the air was pleasingly fresh. All of us experienced serenity completely different from the hustle and bustle of cities. With sweet potato roasting kiln, we learned how our ancestors lived their daily lives by this intelligent way. Furthermore, we became aware of how important to work in a team by unified will and allocated work.

Sweet potato Season in the Campus

To let our school’s teachers and students have insight into this crop representing Taiwan, we volunteered to be the "Ambassador" in the campus. We sponsored the activity of "Sweet Potato Season" in the campus, introducing everything about sweet potato. We anticipate, through the studies and discussions between teachers and students, another hot wave of sweet potato in the campus as well as in the community will emerge. During "Sweet Potato Season", we made and put up a variety of posters regarding sweet potato, designed a special unit to foster the interactions between teachers and students, and we succeeded in collecting many species of sweet potato for everyone to observe.

For combining the homeland education and information education, our school allocated a place specially for the purpose of exhibiting the contents and details of our project. We played the roles of producers, narrators and promoters, trying to share with others what we have learned from this project and trying to implant the image of "Sweet Potato" deeply in the mind of each student. |

Due to the vast area of the campus, the posters we made were countless. Taking sweet potato as our theme, we took this opportunity to introduce to all teachers, students and guests by presenting the results of our researches, interviews, seminars, photographs, records, etc. Many teachers and guests gave us their praise for our outstanding performance in playing homeland ambassadors. They especially appreciated the opportunity of being able to get to know this intriguing specialty of this island.

The culmination of the event was the presence of Mr. Ying-Jiu Ma, Taipei City Mayor, Dr. Qing-Ji Wu, Director of Education Bureau, and Taipei City Council Members, Jin-Zhang Lin and Yu-Mei Chen. We were highly encouraged by their visits and instructions. |
