Taiwan conceives abundant life resource for its special natural environment. The number of species and their diversity are well-known around the world. Affected by geographical separation, the proportion of endemic species is reasonably high. There are 4200 species of fascicular plants, 27% of them are endemic. There are 18500+ species of wild animals (including mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, limnetic fishes, butterflies and other insects); more than 60% are endemic. Such abundant life resource and high proportion of endemic species are most valuable in academic research, resource utilization and protection, and international touring.

For a long time, basic investigation and research data on local life is insufficient. The distribution, population, existent pressure, cultivation and ecological education of endemic species and rare plants/animals are awaiting comprehensive research and propagandizing.

	Interview with Doctor Zeng Yanxue, the Native Plant Expert of Taiwan . Doctor Zeng Yanxue taught us how to recognize a plant through its leaves . He told us that some businessmen introduced a great number of exotic plants for economic benefits. The seeds of some of these plants were dispersed very fast. The growth space is occupied by such plants. In consequence, the native plants of Taiwan decreased in number gradually.

	The entire Garden is divided into three ecological systems: forest, grassland and pond . To create a space close to natural wildness area and diverse environment, to provide a favorable space for natural inoculation, living and breeding for various wild plants, to establish a complete food chain to maintain the diverse biological resources.
