We went to Nanpu and were fortunate to meet Mr. Wei and learned more about the history of the place. Mr. Zhuang’s introduction made us aware of the hard work in dredging in the canal. What moved me the most was that those seniors worked hard to dredge the mud in the dangerous canal, just to let the younger generations see the brilliance of the canal. I also want to thank the tour guide for showing us another aspect of Nanpu. The strength of unity among the people of Nanpu represented the beauty of the place. If I may, I would like to thank Mr. Wei, Mr. Zhuang and the tour guide again for letting us know more about Nanpu.

In this tour to Nanpu, we met Mr. Wei, Mr. Zhang and Mr. Zhuang and learned a lot. First of all, the residents of the Nanpu community are very united because they work hard together. Residents not only won awards for this beautiful town, but also thought about the future development direction and held meetings to discuss how to achieve their goals. In addition, they are very active. To keep the population in the village from losing, they tell young people who want to return to their hometowns that apart from farming, they must have another occupation that can support them financially, so that they will not be so stressed staying in the community. For tourism, they do their best not to allow tourism to affect local life, and even let the farmland lie fallow for one year in 2010 to repair the water canal. Moreover, I think the four seniors who helped dredge the Nanpu water canal were very brave. Although they know the danger of biogas, they still stepped forward for future generations. They desperately dredged out tonnes and tonnes of mud every day. Though they worked from morning till night, feeling exhausted, they still completed this difficult task. I hope that timely adjustment and development can be made in this beautiful community, and villagers can work together and communicate well. I wish that this beautiful Hakka village finds a unique development direction and keeps working hard and moving forward, making the golden Nanpu shine again.

I think the residents of the Nanpu community work hard to make their communities better. The residents of Nanpu let the land lie fallow for a whole year for continuous development in the future, and the four seniors who dredged the silt are also very brave. Many people did not dare to enter the canal because of biogas, but they did it for future generations, knowing that their family would not agree because there was a chance that they might not be able to get out safely. In the end, the water canal was successfully dredged.

The elderly are really the behind-the-scene heroes. The residents of the Nanpu community are very united. They face difficulties and solve problems together. If there are disagreements, they also meet to discuss and reach an agreement. They did not fight or have quarrels, but communicated rationally, and did not give up easily in the face of difficulties. Therefore, they won the award.

After interviewing Mr. Wei, I really feel that he is looking for ideas for the community. Helping with farming will also help mediate between villagers, so that the residents of Nanpu community can live and work in peace and contentment, and there will be no more disputes. I hope that Nanpu community can better embody the title of the gold medal name with the assistance of everyone. I hope that the Nanpu community can maintain the current situation and move toward a better direction.
