Nandian Village Xu Family House Gaoyang Yanpai

The origin of Xu family Gaoyang Yanpai’s hall name must be from its migrating place

Xu Family originated from the east of today’s Xuchang, Henan Province. During Spring and Autumn, Warring States periods, Xu state was forced by Zheng and Chu states and moved its capital many times in northern Henan, Anhui area. After Xu state was annexed by Chu state, some families migrated to today’s Jinshan, Hubei or Zhijiang, Hunan. Most of Xu clans settled there or continued to migrate northward.

The first place Xu clans migrated northward was Gaoyang, Jizhou(today’s Gaoyang, Hebei). Afterwards, some Xu family migrated back to places like Baofeng, Henan.
