Solar Development

The main source of electricity in Taiwan is coal-fired and nuclear power generation. These two source of electricity is both steady supply and cheap energy. This is the biggest problem Taiwan is facing. People is questioning the safety of nuclear power generation, also can’t tolerate air pollution caused by coal-fired power generation.

Taiwan is a narrow country, limited land, it is harder to develop solar power. Fortunately, we located near the equator, sunlight is longer than others. Although Canada is a narrow huge country, however it is located in high latitudes the sunlight will not be as long as Taiwan. Therefore Taiwan still has some advantage on developing solar power. In the interior of Taiwan, the development of the south will be better than the north. The north is a multi-tone rainy weather, so most solar factories will be located in south-central recommendation, coastal open areas or waste area are excellent for solar panels.

Currently counties are facing solar power passively. The area of Taiwan is not big enough to develop solar power nicely, subsidy is not necessarily worthwhile. Therefore only a few cities and counties are promoting solar power. Hopefully in the future we can adopt long-term cultivation way, while allowing the economy to fully promote solar energy, work together to protect our homes, work for the bright future.
