III. Project elements

1. Feature research must conform to the mission and objective of the Taiwan Schools Cyberfair::

Through this feature research we understand the relevant issues of the foster family.  We know how Daddy and Mommy Wu treat the foster children, give them warmth, admonish them to keep to the correct path, nurture them with positive thinking and give them support whenever in need……..Under guidance of the teacher, we have integrated information and the media.  We share our research result with others through the webpage and allow the touching story create warmth and hope.  Better still the story will attract more attention and encouraged more people to help the disadvantaged group!

2. Integration of the feature research program and nine year education teaching:

◎ Language domain: Practice expression skills through interview and learn how to collect and analyze data; compile and edit webpage content, learn integration and sorting of data; draft notes and express self feeling and inspiration.
◎ Information education issues: Learn webpage art design methodology, utilize internet resources, image processing, and webpage editing capability.
◎ Comprehensive domain:  Enhance negotiation capability through interview; learn unity and cooperation through team work; elevate self-reflection and potential tapping through events planning.
◎ Social domain: Integrate relevant courseware of social subjects in order to better understand different facets of the family and society, thereby discover our care and responsibility for the disadvantaged group.

4.How to play the role of ambassador through online, individual and team contact:

In the course of feature research, we discovered that love is everywhere in the foster family.  The actions of Daddy and Mommy Wu have deeply touched us and the dream of realizing the foster family is by no means ephemeral.  They have rationally considered money, children, the environment and other factors…….  Eventually, after their children have grown up, they can start to realize their common dream and allow love to sail.  Despite frustrations, they never retreat.  We should reflect and not to back down by a low score in examination, reprimand by the teacher, or a barrier rock along the road.  We shall continue to work and run forward, and march toward the path of success.

In the course of feature research, we not only understand the issue of foster family, we have discovered the power for changing the world----start from ourselves and unfold actions and sow seeds of love and hope.  In the course of data collection and interview, the passion of Daddy and Mommy Wu has infected us.   Our capability is limited but we hope to disseminate this beautiful story through the webpage.  Consequently, we hope more people will join us and turn the society into a city of love and hope.

5. Influence and impact on us by the feature research program:

Through this feature research, we can see the other side of society----warmth.  Through foster family and love education provided by Daddy and Mommy Wu we realized that: Love, regardless of whether there is blood relation, regardless of where we are, is there and cannot be ignored.  Hence, love is there to touch your heart.  Love gives you security----like home.  Like Daddy and Mommy Wu they have treated the children, however difficult to discipline, as their own and spare no effort in educating and caring them.  They even sacrifice their leisure time and recreational activities.  They make every effort to deliver love, warmth and support to the needy children.  Thus, the children can securely grow and proceed on the correct road.  If we can emulate their spirit this society will have less and less disasters caused by human error.

6. Respect for intellectual property right and explanation on borrowing of such right:

This website focuses on the interview of Daddy and Mommy Wu.  Through in-depth interview we have sorted out paragraphs and paragraphs of the story word by word.  We carefully did repeated proofreading with Daddy and Mommy Wu and made corrections so as to avoid mistakes of data.  We respect intellectual property rights and in borrowing resources from the internet, we have duly cited the source of data and footnoted below.  We have obtained authorization and consent of Daddy and Mommy Wu for use of the story, photos and film.  But to protect the foster children, we have taken proper care and protective measures to ensure security.

7. Discovery, lessons and surprise:

We have discovered that preparing the Taiwan Schools Cyberfair is not that simple.  The website is not solely a couple of photos and paragraphs of text.  It requires our all-out effort, and in the course of research, there is irresistible drive which made us willing to sacrifice holidays and interview the protagonists.  We have utilized our spare time to deeply understand the relevant significance and laws related to the foster family.  It has taught us the importance of allotting time.  If we fail to accomplish step by step by allotting time for homework and report for this week and rush the job on the last day, the job cannot be properly done and the work schedule will be delayed.

The amazing execution by Daddy and Mommy Wu deeply touched us.  Their dream of becoming a foster family has eventually realized, thanks to bringing up their children and buying a new house in the past decade and more.  What amazing power! Frustrations and difficulties did not deter them; what amazing determination!  For the happiness of the foster children Love has no regret
