The Team of Plucked String Instruments Including 14 Members

Mr. Tai-chun Liao 【Pipa】

Mr. Tai-chun Liao is the leader of the team of plucked string instruments and plays the pipa. He deemed that traditional music was different from Western music, while it had the style of the latter. What motivates him to keep practicing are his interest, opportunities of performances, and the need of teaching. Mr. Liao told us that there were three difficulties in traditional music, namely, flute, erhu, and the pipa, wherein, the pipa is recognized as the most difficult.

Ms. Hsiu-hua Lin 【Yangqin】

Ms. Hsiu-hua Lin is responsible to play the yangqin which plays an important role in the performances of CCCO. The difficulty Ms. Lin ran into while learning was to coordinate both hands. Her strong interest drives her to make great efforts up to now.

Ms. Chien Fan 【Guzheng】

Ms. Chien Fan plays the guzheng. She assumes that for beginners fingering is difficult. They need to practice often to become familiar with the location of the strings. She has been learning the guzheng due to her love for it.

Ms. Yu-chien Chen 【Zhongruan】

Ms. Yu-chien Chen plays the zhongruan. Ms. Chen needs to take care of three children daily. As a busy homemaker, she never forgets her favorite traditional music. Every Friday evening, she overcomes all difficulties to participate in the CCCO's practice without fail.
