Introduction to Heng chun ecological farm
Location and Area
Eco-farm is located in Hengchun in Pingtung County in the foothills of the town of Hengchun,Hill Road 28-5, in the hills between 75~155 meters above sea level, is about an area of 48 hectares. Major business projects are ecological agriculture, forestry, fishery, animal husbandry and organic pilot. It has already been established for 40 years.
The origin of the creation of
Farm was created by Mr Li Mingwei. He
wants to apply his expertise to market the concept of environmental
protection, and doing the right thing for the environment,.To reverse
the weak conservation status, Hengchun ecological farm was born.
Hengchun eco-farm has very rich ecological resources, this is first wild
fireflies repopulation successful farms in Taiwan. All of the year, you
can see the traces of the fireflies. During April and July every year,
you can enjoy a lot of firefly scenery, and in June-August, the views
replaced by farm butterflies. There are also tropical plants and cattle,
chumuqu sheep, and it allow children to experience the pleasure of
feeding cattle and sheep.
Farm has a variety of Taiwan indigenous trees and unique tropical
coastal forest species in Hengchun Peninsula. This farm even croped
organic vegetable garden to promote healthy vegetables without
pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
Sunset
We live in time farm in the afternoon , bags packed , the staff took us to experience the tour jelly activities it again , we recognize that many band members tour the plant , when the sun came out , we climbed to the top of the bell tower , knocking blessing bell and see a beautiful sunset , sunrise and sunset farm are known far and wide , many visitors had come to the bell tower and enjoy the scenery . First wash Jade
Arrived at the farm, we settled our baggage in the hotel, then we went to the restaurant to learn how to wash jelly. Guides told us first wash recipe for jelly. We understand that a small bowl of jelly contained many knowledge. For example all apparatus, including pot, and gauze bags, and our hands were must to be cleaned. It couldn’t exist any oil. The water needed to contain calcium hydronium to condense, so the most suitable water is boiled tap water or mineral water, hard water. You could not use pure water, distilled water, and inverse penetration water, such like soft water to make jelly. Jelly to water is ratio of about 1:50 (as 20 public grams of love jade using 1000 public grams of water). If you want to eat softer or harder, you can increases or decreases water ratio by yourself.
Special feeling
When everyone was ready, we had started washing jelly. First we put the jelly seeds into the filter bag. Then rubbed the bag in the water. When washing, you must rubbed and squeezed in the same time, and let the pectin flow out as much as possible. It is the key point to decide jelly will be delicious or not. We all took turns rubbing jelly seeds. Approximately 10-15 minutes rubbing, washing out jelly pectin. At this point, water had become yellow, and the water became thick, it was almost finished.
At the same time, jelly has been completed. We ate it with cool black tea. We love the taste of jelly, and the taste is full of praise!
Surprise " out of the fire " landscape
In Hengchun, there is a very famous attraction called "fire" near the farm. It is caused by the gas coming from the ground. We just dig a hole in the ground, the ground start to burn. The attractions just need to drive three minutes from Hengchun farm, so is well worth to visit.

Walking on the farm road , at any particular plant and animal , tour members while introducing , while we plant smell taste , but fortunately there are careful to explain the tour members , otherwise we just cursory . 1.By car:
Go straight along the Ping-ur highway (provincial highway 26) to north, then into the Hengchun town, turn left after the Bureau road, walk along the old wall until to the intersection.
Turn left East Gate Road and turn right immediately at the foot of the bridge, still move on, you can see a archway and turn left into the town, up to the hill and keep straight and you can reach the farm.
2. Take Passenger :
You can consider to take Taiwan bus,
Kaohsiung bus in the bus station near Kaohsiung station, and other passenger transport.
The train number is frequency. Taking a bus toward the direction to Hengchun Peninsula.
Follow the temple pointer to walk up the hill
of the town, you can reach.
3. By Train:
Take the rail to Kaohsiung station, then transfer to other public transportation (recommendations take Taiwan bus, Kaohsiung bus to south)
