The origin of chocolate

A Sim chocolate farm is located in One Li Road27-8 in Hengchun town in Pingtung. The farmer Mr. Zeng Zhongxin created the farm in 2012. The whole farm was built depend the hilly terrain. This small hill planted a whole betel nut trees, areca was adverse soil and water conservation. Mr Zeng replaced betel nut trees with cacao trees, it was sustainable management of land. Thus the chocolate farm was born. Letter about 1.8513 hectares of the farm,which is a vast farm opposited the well-known Kenting Yoho Resort. This farm is in cooperation with Yoho resorts for offering resort guests preferential, as long as buy the resort tickets, you can also buy something cheaper in all farm.

Building A letter

When going into the farm, according to the mountain, and climb the ladder from the car park. You can enter the gate, there will be ticket booth, after buying the ticket, you may continue to be slightly inclined slope along the road. This road planted with trees on both sides, looks green. Behind the ticket booth is a vanilla plant, cultivate many organic herb farms which was put tables and chairs, so visitors in this open space can enjoy the green and lovely vanilla plants. Hill top has an ecological pool, pond cultivated of many aquatic plants. The pool water flows along the hillside, to fall back on a small road, winding down the hill. Thus the view formed around the Hill with water. If you climb the mountain along the path. You not only can enjoy the beautiful plants, also can listen to the sound of gurgling water.
Go right again halfway up the mountain, you will meet the "Grandfather cocoa garden", bananas and cocoa trees are planted inside. The farmer wants to let the visitors know cacao tree, so create this area. The cacao trees mainly grow in the back mountain area, more than 300 of cocoa trees, farm owners and local small farmers in a effort to take care of these trees. Next to the " Grandfather cocoa garden " is chocolate classroom, in this spacious comfortable space, visitors are can release mood, experience the process of making chocolate. Downstairs to the classroom is trafficking district, recommends everyone rest in this open space. It not only sells many food and beverage, more amazing is the vision here. Except of natural scenery in farm you can also overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean, it is refreshing.

Delicious chocolate

We experienced the adventure about cacao, the guide man explained farm fruit trees for everyone. After this activity, we not only appreciate the beauty of this park, also has been a solid learning for the cacao tree application environment, process of growth, and the fruit of the cacao tree.
We signed up for DIY chocolate cookies. At first, teachers teach us how to judge cacao be flesh or not. The fresh cacao tasted sweet and sour!
Then we watched the film, understand making process of chocolate, then we begin to hands-on painted chocolate. We felt so nervous, because if we spent too much time, the chocolate would hard off. If the chocolate was heated again, it would taste not good. In afraid wrong mood, I felt like an artist, was preparing to show my skill. When painting was completed, put our cute chocolate in refrigerator for freezing. We had completed chocolate cookies created by ourself.
There still has other course like "Making vanilla liquid for mosquito" and " farmer farming DIY ". Due to the time is not enough, we did not experience, but I have included them in my next trip.

A Sim Shopping

 The farm offering a lot of gift, that visitors can buy, and will not empty-handed.  Except for farm fresh cocoa beans, it also sell chocolate gift boxes. The farm is even working with coffee farmers in Pingtung, carefully cultivate and select Arabica coffee and Mudan coffee planted locally. If you like potted palnts, you can  bring back cocoa seedlings, potted plants, organic herbs potted ... ... planting them at home, then the phytoncid will full of your house!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Farm traffic:

 

1. Driving car:

   In the third national highway, get down the NanChio communication, then turn right after No.1 road. Passing Feng Kong, continued from 26 provincial road. After the town called Checheng and another town called  Bao Li, then you must turn right go into County Road 153. Toward the direction to the Marine Museum. When pass the Marine Museum about 8 km you can reach the farm.

2.Take high-speed rail:

   Taking the high-speed train to Zuoying station, transfer to the Kenting Fast Lane Bus to Hengchun town, then walk to Kenting street bus stops by the Orange Line bus to Yoho stop, the farms located in opposite of the Yoho resort.

3.Take Taiwan Railway:

   Taking Taiwan Railway to the Kaohsiung railway station, transfer to the ChungNan or GuoGuan or Pingtung or Kaohsiung bus. There four passenger transport companies in Kaohsiung can to Hengchun in the Kenting line station or Kenting, Kenting and then take the street car stops from the orange line to Yoho.

4.take the bus:

Oluanpi, Kenting, South Bay, Hengchun, these stops all has transfer stations. You can  take Orange Line bus to Yoho station, then you can reach the farm.
