In 2010, Chiayi city relocated the districts, and the Yun-Hsiao Ancient Pathway had been assigned to the Linsen Village. The office of Wang Guang Li, chief of the Linsen Village, is located near the entrance of the ancient pathway at Anhe Street, and it is one of the oldest building in the pathway.
The Yun-Hsiao Ancient Pathway today starts from Chiayi city Anhe Street Lane 197, to Heping Road Lane 135. It is 2.8 meters wide, 450 meters long. The pathway is narrow, new and old buildings intertwine with each other, and the marks of time could be spotted everywhere within the pathway.
Every year in March, the Neian-Yun-Hsiao Community Development Association will hold a traditional “splitting the foot of incense” performance. In cooperation with local schools, the association inspires students the explore the culture and history of the city.
In addition, the association often holds community activities to promote the beauty of the Yun-Hsiao Ancient Pathway. One of the events held in cooperation with the Hoanya Cultural Association left people with a deep impression: “23.5° Market.” Every time when this market event is held, people will attend with stalls including handcrafts, environmental promotions, organic products, and creative arts. The splitting of the foot of incense will also be performed. Through the 23.5° Market event, more people will get to know about the Yun-Hsiao Ancient Pathway.
Hope to meet you in the pathway someday!
